A daily puzzle game platform for dabblers

One of my favorite routines during my time in Washington, DC was reading the Express Newspaper. Distribution boxes and neon vest wearing staff would offer the weekday paper near metro stations and spots throughout the DMV. The highlight for me was a puzzle game called Scrabblegrams. It brought the decoding challenges inherent to Scrabble to a logic puzzle. If you were stumped by a clue, you could sort out feasible answers using the letter sets and tile values.

I would savor the paper on faded orange Metro seats on days when I commuted to the office. Or I would try to decode as many words as I could on afternoon walks to the nearest bright yellow Express box. I played it nearly every weekday until the Express paper discontinued production on September 19, 2019. I took a photo of the barren distribution box. It looked sad.
